After three runs on TR we were hit by flak on the bomb doors. The starboard inner engine was hit rather badly and put out of action. We were held for about 8 minutes in a very good box barrage. The bomb doors failed to close on selecting so we returned at 150mph. Aircraft holed in 40 places. Landed at Wittering
