Aircraft returned on receipt of recall message. Unable to locate base and then inadvertently joined circuit of nearby Newtown. Landing was made under impression this was Syerston, and consequently overshot as it was a much smaller runway. Aircraft collided with defence post and caught fire. Apart from minor injuries crew was uninjured.
