Attacked by enemy fighter on outward journey, the aircraft being hit and badly damaged. Rear turret was put u/s and the gunner wounded. A fire broke out in the fuselage but extinguished by mid upper gunner who was burned. Mission was abandoned and bomb dropped on Damstadt.
