We were intercepted by one ME110 20 miles SW of target. Rear and mid upper gunner opened fire on ME at 200 yards. Range dead astern. Cannon shells from ME passed just over us as I put the aircraft into a steep diving turn to port. Rear gunner estimated that the first burst hit the 110. The enemy broke away and was not seen again.
