No stock pipes were fitted on the inner tanks, so when the immersion pump failed, I assumed that the failure would occur at all heights and as I only had 150 gallons in the centre tanks I turned back as to reach base on the centre tanks. Both starboard engines lost boost and the revs varied greatly on each engine. The revs on the inner starboard jumped from 0 to 3000 and vice versa very rapidly.
