Aircraft was hit by heavy flak and cannon shell as bombs left aircraft., injuring both bomb aimer and W/Op who died before crash landing could be affected at Woodbridge. The port inner engine was u/s, the bomb doors failed to close, flap, undercart, rear and mid-upper turrets were all u/s, as was also elevator and rudder trim. Height was lost from 22000ft over target, to 4000ft over French coast and 500ft over English coast.
