After bombing attacked by ME210 and JU88. Petrol tanks hit and considerable damage caused to aircraft. Rear Gunner, Sgt Knox, killed. Owing to loss of fuel aircraft was ditched 4 miles from English coast, 15 miles north of Yarmouth. Crew picked up 4 hours later. Sgt Knox went down with the wreckage.
