Served with 9 Sqn. Aircraft last heard from at 1932 hours with wind report. Attacked by a night fighter which hit the Lancaster with upward-firing cannon over the Berlin area. Crashed near Sulzthal, Germany, 10km NW of Schweinfurt, where the four crew members who perished were initially laid to rest before being transferred to Durnbach War Cemetery.
