Both aircraft had been hit by flak, this aircraft having been hit at 20.50hrs by 1.& 4./S.ABT,665 & 1./S.ABT591 & exploded in the air after colliding W7882. The wreckage from the Lancaster fell on Luyksgestel, the Halifax also exploded in mid-air and the wreckage fell on Hamont.
