35 Sqn was formed in Feb 1916 and served in a reconnaissance role during the first Wold War. At the start of World War 2 the unit was designated a training unit equipped with Fairey Battles, Ansons and Blenheims. In November 1940 it was the first squadron to receive the Handley Page Halifax, before converting Lancasters in March 1944 which they operated until the end of the war. Post war it flew Lincolns, Boeing Washingtons, Canberras and Vulcans before the squadron was disbanded in 1982.
